RN FastTrack

The RN FastTrack option builds upon your initial nursing education and experience with the flexibility and resources to complete your BSN courses while working. Earning a BSN expands your career options, increases earning potential, improves patient outcomes, fulfills employer requirements, and prepares you for future graduate studies.

Requirements for Admission

To apply for the RN to BSN program, you'll need to submit the following:

  • Valid Texas or designated state RN license: Make sure your nursing license is active and in good standing.
  • Accredited associate degree or diploma: Your nursing program must have been approved by a regional accreditation agency.
  • Official transcripts: Have official transcripts sent directly from all colleges and universities you attended to A&M-Victoria.
  • Minimum GPA: You need a minimum overall GPA of 2.5, with a science GPA of at least 2.5 and a minimum ADN program GPA of 2.0. No grades of "D" or "F" are allowed unless you retook the course and earned a "C" or higher. You can only repeat a maximum of two (2) courses.
  • Completed application: Submit your application for undergraduate admission through Apply Texas.

Nursing Degree Plan

Prerequisites

Lower division nursing prerequisite courses listed below, which must be completed before enrolling in nursing courses.

  • 3 semester hours of Statistics (may take psychology statistics or math statistics)
  • 8 semester hours of Human Anatomy and Physiology
  • 4 semester hours of Microbiology
  • 3 semester hours of Chemistry or Physical Science
  • 6 semester hours of Psychology (PSYC 2301 Introduction to Psychology, and PSYC 2314 Human Growth and Development)
  • 30 semester hours from the Texas Core Curriculum
  • RN to BSN students will be given up to 36 semester hours of advanced placement credit for successful completion of an Associate Degree in Nursing and subsequent RN licensure.
